Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe, an auxiliary nurse, has been designated as the primary suspect in Mohbad’s death by the Lagos State Police Command, along with Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Primeboy, and one other person.
According to the Lagos State Police Command, there are signs that the shots Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe, an assistant nurse, gave the deceased Mohbad set off a series of events that ultimately resulted in his demise.
Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad, passed away on September 12 at the age of 27. Since then, his passing has sparked debate because old tapes of the Afrobeats performer making claims of physical abuse and bullying surfaced.
Idowu Owohunwa, the Commissioner of Police, stated during a press conference on Friday that Ogedengbe was called and invited to see the musician in his Lekki residence on September 11 by Ayobami Sadiq, also known as Spending, a friend of Mohbad.
“She eventually came on Tuesday, 12 September, 2023, and administered three different injections, which are believed to have occasioned the chain of reactions that directly resulted in the eventual death of the singer,”
Ogedengbe gave Mohbad “multiple and highly potent” shots, he continued.
The shots, which contained Tetanus toxoid, paracetamol, and the antibiotic Cetrazone, were given on September 12 at Mobad’s home, according to Owohunwa.
According to reports, the drugs caused an immediate reaction that included vomiting, goosebumps, and convulsions.
He claimed that Ogedengbe was unqualified to serve in the capacity of a home nurse and that she did so carelessly and outside of a clinical setting.
“She is the principal suspect in the death of Mohbad. She acknowledged that it was the injections she administered on the deceased that triggered the reactions which eventually led to Mohbad’s death.”
Other expert opinions and witnesses’ statements corroborated her admittance, the police commissioner added.
“Her action of administering doses of tetanus toxoid, paracetamol (intravenous), and Cetrazone injection, which was also administered intravenously to Mohbad at his residence on 12 September, 2023, immediately triggered the reactions, including vomiting, goose bumps and convulsion that eventually resulted in the singer’s death,” Owohunwa said.
“This criminal liability is further heightened, granted the evidential fact that as an auxiliary nurse, she is not qualified to administer such medications or function as a qualified nurse. She also did this in a non-clinical environment and in a professionally negligent manner that negated standard medical protocols.”
“Five suspects have so far been identified, arrested, detained, and interrogated on their alleged roles in the sequence of events that led to the death of the singer.” he said.
One of the suspect is Primeboy, also known as Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owodunni, who is said to have known Mohbad since they were little.
The police commissioner revealed that Primeboy and Mohbad went to a concert together on September 10, which resulted in a violent altercation between the two that hurt the late singer.
According to Owohunwa, “the management of the injury ultimately resulted in his death.”
Mr. Ayobami Sadiq, also known as Spending, who is “suspected of conspiracy to commit a felony” and who is claimed to have invited the auxiliary nurse, has also been listed as a suspect.
Meanwhile, the police findings also said that, Abdul-Aziz Fashola known as Naira Marley and Samson Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry are allegedly linked to cyberbullying, physical harassment, a danger to life, and an assault on Afrobeats musician Mohbad.
Ilerioluwa Aloba, commonly known as Mohbad, passed away last month under mysterious circumstances. After the Afrobeats singer’s death, footage of alleged bullying and abuse surfaced again, and many people accused Naira Marley (Abdulazeez Fashola) and Sam Larry (Samson Balogun) of being complicit. The two have refuted this accusation.
According to Owohunwa, there is evidence connecting Naira Marley and Sam Larry to the attack on Mohbad.
“While Abdulazeez Fashola (Naira Marley) and Samson Balogun (Sam Larry) denied allegations of criminal liability in the death of Mohbad and pleaded an alibi to justify their non-being complicit in the incident that occurred between 10-12 September 2023, there are ample electronic and credible witness pieces of evidence linking them to cyberbullying, a threat to life, assault occasioning harm, and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace against the deceased in his lifetime,” he said.
The autopsy, toxicology test, and exhumation of Mohbad’s remains were all conducted on September 21. The police commissioner also stated that the results of the autopsy and toxicology were pending.
