HOODLUMS INVADE OGUN COMMUNITY, EIGHT SUSPECTS ARRESTED
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a suspected gang of hoodlums who invaded the house of one Wakili Olalekan in Yobo village in the Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state after an alleged invitation by another member of the community, Olusesan Ogaode, with the aim of attacking the community.
The Commandās Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said this in a statement on Saturday.
She noted that following a distress call received from a community member, officers of the Ibogun Division of the Command stormed the community and arrested eight suspected hoodlums.
āOn October 13, 2023, the Divisional Police Officer of Ibogun Divisional acted swiftly based on a distress call from a community member in Ewekoro LGA about a group of hoodlums who had invaded the house of Wakili Olalekan in Yobo village, Ewekoro. The hoodlums were reportedly invited by Olusesan Ogaode, also residing at the same address.
āIn response, the police officers promptly moved to the location and effectively cordoned off the entire area. As a result of their efforts, eight suspected hoodlums were apprehended. The arrested individuals are as follows: Adebila Adebayo āmā , aged 32; Kola Amosunāmā aged 35; Abiola Lanreāmā, aged 20 and Fakeye Gabrielāmā, aged 30.
āLekan Adeleye āmā , aged 15yrs Adewale OgaOdeāmā, aged 26; Oluwasesan Ogaodeāmā, aged 25; Vincent Mercyāfā, aged 20; and Ajibade Rachaelāfā, aged 19. They had planned to go to carry out an attack on the village but the superior intelligence of the police counter their plans leading to their arrest.ā
Odutola disclosed further that exhibits of various types among which were one AK 47 ammunition, live cartridges, two vehicles and assorted charms were recovered from the suspects while preliminary investigation ongoing.
āDuring the operation, several exhibits were recovered by the police. These includes: One unregistered white Highlander Jeep, One unregistered Green Colour Mazda 626 Salon car, One live AK 47 ammunition, two live cartridges, two knives and assorted charms.
āThe Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu has ordered a preliminary investigation be carried out, as all suspects will be transfered to State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigationā, she concluded.
