SPORT UPDATE: OSIMHEN, IHEANACHO RULED OUT OF NIGERIA’S GAME AGAINST MOZAMBIQUE
Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho of the Super Eagles will not play in the team’s friendly match against Mozambique.
A Sunday update on the team’s X account states as much.
In Friday’s 2-2 draw against the Saudi Arabian Green Falcons, Osimhen was replaced. However, the Napoli attacker would not play in Monday’s match against Mozambique as a “precautionary measure on advice of the medical team,” according to the club’s management, days after the draw.
Iheanacho was given an excuse to take care of “pressing personal issues.”
Osimhen and Iheanacho participated in the match against Saudi Arabia, with the former scoring that evening.
Monday’s match between Nigeria and Mozambique is scheduled to take place at the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira, Portugal.
We anticipate that the game will start at 4 p.m. (WAT).
