UNILORIN VC DENIES MALIGNING KWARA GOVERNOR
By Oduola Farouq A.
The University of Ilorin has distanced its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, from a trending WhatsApp message that claimed he had completed more projects in a year than the governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. This was disclosed in a statement by the management of the Ilorin-based institution on Thursday, claiming “Our Vice Chancellor knows nothing about this trending message nor does he have anything to do with the out-of-context comparison, which we suspect to be the handiwork of politicians.”
According to a WhatsApp message that has gone viral, Governor AbdulRazaq has not commissioned any project in five years while Prof. Egbewole is set to commision 15 projects after just one year in office.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasised that Mallam AbdulRazaq stood out as a listening Governor due to his prompt response to the school’s appeal.
