JUST IN: POLICE BEGINS EXTRADITION PROCESS OF ‘KILLABOI’ OVER GIRLFRIEND’S DEATH
An Instagram influencer known as KillaBoi, Benjamin Nnanyereugo, was detained by Sierra Leonean authorities on suspicion of killing his late girlfriend, Augusta Osedion. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed that the agency has started the extradition process.
In a Saturday, in-depth phone discussion with journalist, Hundeyin disclosed this.
“We have initiated the extradition procedure to secure KillaBoi’s custody in Nigeria,” stated Hundeyin.
According to information obtained by our correspondent, KillaBoi was apprehended on Friday night at a Freetown nightclub. Prior to being apprehended, he had changed his name to Kanu Princeton Samuel, spent more than $25,000 on a Sierra Leonean passport, and attempted to make ends meet in the West African nation that is well-known for its white-sand beaches.
The deceased’s family had shared his picture on social media, which prompted a Sierra Leonean who recognised him to get in touch with well-known human rights attorney Femi Falana, SAN. Femi Falana, SAN, then notified the Lagos Police Command, which had previously issued a want list for the individual.
According to The Punch, KillaBoi was listed as wanted by the Lagos State Police Command on October 11 in connection with the death of Miss Osedion.
The National daily added that the police command stated last week Tuesday that Nnanyereugo was suspected of killing the 21-year-old woman on July 13, 2023, in his residence at Oral Estate in the Ajah area of the state. This information was provided in a statement made by the police command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin.
“Following the exhaustion of all available options to bring him in, he is declared wanted. The suspect is 26 years old, approximately 5’9 ft tall and hails from Abia State. He is dark in complexion and speaks English, Igbo and pidgin English fluently. “If seen, please contact the nearest police station or call 0803 688 5727,” the statement read in part.
