AUTO CRASH CLAIMS FOUR LIVES IN KANO
Four persons have been confirmed dead following a tragic road accident near Dinyar Madiga village in Takai Local Government Area of Kano State.
Several other persons were said to have sustained injuries during the accident, which occurred late Friday evening.
The Public Relations Office, Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Sunday.
He explained that the incident tragically resulted in the loss of four lives and left numerous others with injuries.
He said,” It was reported that a motorbike carrying three individuals attempted to overtake a bus, resulting in a collision that caused the bus to overturn and catch fire.”
He revealed that upon arrival at the scene, firefighters discovered four people unconscious and managed to rescue six others, including the bus driver.
Abdullahi further explained that Medical attention was immediately provided to those injured, who were transported to Takai NYSC Hospital.
“Unfortunately, doctors later confirmed the deaths of four individuals who were unable to be identified.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident was caused by the motorbike rider’s reckless overtaking and excessive speed, leading to a loss of control.”
Abdullahi added that the victims have been handed over to the Takai Police Division for further investigation.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer, FRSC Kano State Sector command, Labaran Abdullahi said he was aware of the incident but promised to find out from their unit in the area.
