NPFL: OGUNBOTE REACTS TO SHOOTING STARS’ WIN AGAINST ‘DIFFICULT’ KANO PILLARS
Shooting Stars head coach Gbenga Ogunbote admitted his side met a tough opposition in Kano Pillars.
The 3SC coach said that his team’s victory did not come easy after the Oluyole Warriors defeated the Sai Masu Gida in Sunday’s matchday nine match by a single goal.
“It was a good one for us, it didn’t come that easy, we shouldn’t have expected it to come easier than it did.
“It’s a team that wants a point on the road, if you listen to their coach in his interview before the game, you will realise that he came for at worse a point”, added the coach who however, believed his team had the chance to kill off the game in the first half.
“Unfortunately, we were too much in a hurry, we would have made the difference in the first half, but be it as it may, the important is that the three points are in the bag”.
The former Sunshine Stars and Rangers International sweat merchant, stated that the team will continue to fight for valuable points both at home and away grounds as the season progresses.
“If you want to make a statement at the end of the season, you must think of winning at away and we will do are best and pray we have what it takes.
“We want to make sure the team finishes on high to ensure that the team is happy, the government is happy, the supporters are happy,” said the experienced tactician.
