CAF CONFEDERATIONS CUP: WHY RIVERS UNITED LOST TO DREAMS FC – COACH EGUMA
Rivers United head coach Stanley Eguma has said his side’s wastefulness in front of goal contributed to their 2-1 defeat against Ghanaian club, Dreams FC in their CAF Confederation Cup matchday two encounter on Sunday.
Dreams FC dominated the first half and got their reward with John Antwi scoring the opener off a Eric Boateng’s pass.
Boateng also set up Abdul Aziz Issah for the second 15 minutes from time.
Alex Oyowah reduced the deficit for Rivers United in stoppage time.
Eguma said his side must work on the lapses before their next game.
“They ( Dream FC) got their chances and converted them, especially in the first half.
We had a load of chances in the second half but unfortunately, we couldn’t convert those chances,” Eguma told reporters after the game.
“That was our greatest undoing today and I think we have to go back and work on those areas and come back stronger in the next game.”
Rivers United will host Club Africain of Tunisia in their next game in the competition.
