LEADERS ARE MISSING AT CHELSEA, SAYS MIKEL

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Obi, has tasked Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino, with finishing the team’s rebuild and beginning to win Premier League games.
Mikel revealed this on his Obi One Podcast, bemoaning the Blue’s absence of leadership.
āAre we just going to sit on the fence and say we are still in a rebuilding process?ā Mikel said during his Obi One Podcast.
āThere is no time for that. We need to start winning games. When I look at the team, it comes down to a lack of leaders.
“In the game against Everton, I looked around the pitch, there was not one single leader. There is no one to come out on the pitch to go at your colleagues and say, āWake up, what are you doing?ā ā this is what we had before.
āThe likes of Didier Drogba, John Terry, and Frank Lampard, when you are having a s*** game, these guys would make you wake up.
āI look at the manager; I didnāt see him scream at one of the players to say, āDo your f****** job, wake up, make sure you run around and make sure we win the game.āā
Additionally, he criticized Marc Cucurella, the left-back for the Blues, saying the Spaniard was not up to Chelsea’s standards.
Following his Ā£62 million summer transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion to Chelsea, Cucurella has found it difficult to make an impression.
āHe is not Chelsea standard,ā Mikel added.
āWhen you look at the left-backs we have had, Ashley Cole, Cesar Azpilicueta, William Gallas, you are talking about these players who have stayed at the club for many years, played so many games, and the standard they have set for that position. For me, heās not at Chelsea standard.ā
