YULETIDE: LASTMA DEPLOYS MORE PERSONNEL, PATROL AND TOW VEHICLES
…..caution motorists to consider other road users.
As part of its statutory responsibilities in ensuring unimpeded flow of traffic across the State, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has deployed more personnel, patrol and tow vehicles to strategic locations across the State.
The General Manager of LASTMA, Bakare Oki Olalekan disclosed that the Agency is specifically dedicated to ensuring free-flow of traffic and prompt response to any infractions that could by any means extend the journey time of motorists.
According to the General Manager “The Agency carried out an annual ‘Ember Months Road Safety Advocacy Campaign’ accompanied by aggressive public enlightenment, traffic control, rescue operation, and enforcement”
He admonished the motoring public to make use of the State Emergency toll – free numbers ‘112 & 767’ or call any of these LASTMA hotlines (08100565860, 08129928503 & 08129928515) for prompt intervention in case of any road emergencies scross the State.
While urging road users to always cooperate with Lastma personnel on the road, Mr. Bakare Oki thereby warned motorists against seat-belt, overloading, speeding, use of phones while driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs as contained inside the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law 2018.
