
LASTMA RESCUES DRUNK DRIVER IN LAGOS
Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) early this morning rescued a drunk driver who rammed into a road median at C.M.S inward outer Marina area of Lagos.
The driver of a Volkswagen Space bus with registration number AAW 56 AA rammed into the road median on high speed and got trapped.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the Volkswagen Space bus lost control and rammed into the road median as a result of much intake of alcohol.
Immediately the accident occured, LASTMA personnel working around CMS outer Marina rushed to the accident scene and rescued the driver who was later rushed to ‘Odan’ General Hospital for medical treatment.
Police men from ‘ Lion Building’ provided security backup while LASTMA personnel recovered the trapped vehicle off the median to enable free vehicular movement inward outer Marina.
The General Manager of LASTMA Bakare Oki who was on a monitoring tour with top management of the Agency visited the accident scene and appealed to the motoring public not to drink while driving and to obey all traffic regulations in order to ensure safety.
