‘GOOD WIFE’: NITDA GIFTS DEBBIE, HUSBAND TWO LAPTOPS, ONE-YEAR FREE INTERNET SUBSCRIPTION
By Sefiu Ajape
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has joined the ranks of Nigerians on social media and in organizations presenting gifts to trending Nigerian lady, Deborah Loveth ‘Debbie,’ and her husband, Abiola Adebisi.
According to reports, Debbie gained popularity after disclosing on X that she started getting up at 4:50 a.m. to prepare meals for her husband.
In response to the widely discussed tweet, some people chastised her for the change, while a large number of people praised her as a good wife and continued to provide money and other gifts to her and her husband.
NITDA, a government organization that develops and oversees information technology in Nigeria, joined the parade of presents bestowed upon the couple late on Saturday by posting on its verified X page that it was offering the pair two computers and a year’s worth of free internet service.
The body claims that the couple’s heartwarming love tale is one that should be honored. The present is intended to further ensure that there are more women working in the technology sector, the body added.
The tweet read, “Hello @_Debbie_OA, your amazing love story and perseverance is touching, and we would like to gift you two laptops and 1-year internet subscription for you and your husband. This is to ensure that Mummy Zee joins our quest for a #DigitalNigeria and #Tech4Women. We have just followed you. Please check your DM. Goodluck!”
