OKANLOMO DEBUNKS RUMOUR ON HIS CONNECTION WITH RTEAN
The National Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (NNAMORA), a motorcycle union under the Lagos State Parks and Garages Administrators LASPAGA, currently led by Mr. Adeshina Teslim Hussaini, also known as Okanlomo has denied the unverified claims circulating on social media that he is the actual chairman of the Lagos Chapter of the Road Transport Employee Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).
In response to the news, Mr. Adeshina Hussaini stated that he was still a legitimate member of LASPAGA under the Lagos State Government and that it was necessary to refute the false information that was circulating on social media and blogs portraying him as the new chairman of RTEAN. He added that he had not received any prior notice of or meeting with any individual or group regarding chairmanship in the Union.
In response to the circulating information, Okanlomo expressed disapproval at the unexpectedly embarrassing publication that lacks credibility and verifiable facts. He further stated that he has no affiliation with RTEAN, either nationally or locally, as their activities have been suspended since Lagos. The report reads “The lingering disputes between the Lagos State Government and Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has been resolved.”
“According to a letter addressed to the General Secretary of Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Nuhu Toro, signed by the National Security Adviser to the President, Nuhu Ribadu, said the issues has been laid to rest with the appointment of a new chairman of the union in Lagos State.”
The letter dated January 6, 2024, indicating the appointment of Comrade Adeshina Teslim Hussaini, a.k.a. Okanlomo, with effect from January 1, 2024, can be categorised as false information. However, Adeshina Hussain seized this medium to dissociate himself from the propaganda and fake news ravaging the air.
Recall that following pockets of violence reported in Ojo, Lagos Island, and other areas of the state where some people reportedly lost their lives, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu ordered the suspension of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) and their leaders in the state. This led to the establishment of Lagos State Parks and Garages Administrators (LASPAGA), which is still in operation today and is overseen by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation.
