IBADAN EXPLOSION: PROVIDE VICTIMS PROMPT HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE, OYO SENATOR ALLI URGES NEMA, OTHERS
Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, has urged the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other pertinent authorities to offer prompt humanitarian relief to the victims of the Ibadan explosion.
This was said by the lawmaker on Wednesday.
According to HOTJIST, there was an explosion at a house in Ibadan’s Bodija Housing Estate’s Dejo Oyelese Close.
The incident happened in the Oyo South Senatorial District’s Ibadan North Local Government Area.
Alli, a member of the National Assembly representing the Oyo South Senatorial District, emphasized that NEMA and all other pertinent government organizations must give the incident’s victims emergency humanitarian aid.
The legislator called the incident regrettable in a statement released and signed by his media assistant, Akeem Abas.
In order to stop similar incidents in the future and guarantee the safety of the local population, he pleaded with the authorities to carry out a comprehensive inquiry into what caused the explosion.
“I call on relevant government agencies, emergency responders, and community leaders to collaborate in providing immediate relief as well as necessary resources to the victims and their families.
“I also urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the explosion to prevent future occurrences and ensure the safety of residents in the area,” he said.
