LASRRA TRAINS STAFF ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE LIBRARY (PHOTOS)
The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has trained members of its technical department on Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
In addition to upgrading its information technology infrastructure and introducing the smart multipurpose card in accordance with international best practices, LASRRA is working to promote efficiency for effective service delivery, and this includes the training, which aims to improve ICT skills and ensure quality and speedy service delivery.
At the opening ceremony of the two-day training workshop held at the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology (MIST), Alausa, Ikeja, the general manager, Mrs. Adebiyi-Abiola Bilikiss, urged the staff to give their all in everything they do and wherever they find themselves.
Adebiyi-Abiola said, “Always endeavor to make yourself relevant by acquiring skills that are relevant to your training, apart from the capacity building that the agency organizes for you.
“Especially in this era, where technology has almost taken over different spheres of life, many countries are embracing technology and transforming to meet the diverse needs of modern society.”
According to her, the training’s main objectives were to enhance resident interactions, stimulate innovation, become skilled service providers, and improve customer service, particularly in the digital age when people are connecting to information.
The GM went on to say that in order to maintain universal access to information in the digital age, people must continue to adapt to and embrace digital resources as technology develops. She pleaded with the employees to keep working hard and diligently to serve the people of Lagos State.
She emphasized that while registration is totally free for all citizens, they shouldn’t be taken advantage of.
The facilitator, Mr. Kayode Oguta Francis, Chief Executive Officer, Skylifters Global Services Limited, who was represented by Mr. Femi Elufidiya, emphasized the importance of being proactive in the execution of duties and providing swift responses to residents’ needs.
He stated that there is a dire need to acquire the necessary skills that could be used to navigate the abundance of information and data protection.
“Technology fosters innovation and Creativity. As technology advances, the role of libraries in providing access and training to help individuals adapt and thrive in an increasingly digital world cannot be underestimated,” he added.
Furthermore, information security management goals, the dimension of service management, organization and people, partners and suppliers, value streams and processes, risk management and identification, monitoring, and event management were among the other topics covered throughout the program.
