WE HAVE PROVIDED FINANCIAL AID TO 545 INDIGENT LAGOSIANS IN THREE MONTHS-SANWO-OLU’S AIDE
The Lagos State Government, through its Financial Assistance Program, has provided 545 indigent Lagosians with financial aid, according to Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, Special Adviser to the Governor, Office of Political, Legislative, and Civic Engagement (OPLCE).
He made this statement on Monday while addressing reporters about the Lagos State Government’s social intervention program.
He added that the government hopes to lessen the burden of financial constraints and provide necessary relief that will improve the quality of life for the recipients and their families.
Abiodun further stated that the commendable initiatives demonstrate the Lagos State Government’s unwavering commitment to supporting its most vulnerable citizens.
In his words, āSanwo-Olu Cares, Sanwo-Olu Listens are part of the dividends of good governance that Mr. Governor promised Lagosians, and he is ever ready to assent to the various requests. We have already received more letters for financial assistance, and very soon, with the approval of Mr. Governor, it will be given out.ā
The Special Adviser discussed another social intervention program the Office is involved in, addingĀ that the Mother, Infant & Child Development (MICHD) Program is specifically designed for pregnant indigent mothers who have been chosen from a variety of Public Health Centers (PHC) in Local Government Areas (LGA) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDA).
He clarified that in addition to receiving the greatest medical treatment available, these expectant mothers are also being closely watched over and given dietary items that are high in the nutrients required for the healthy growth of both mother and child.
Speaking further about the Office’s other initiatives, Afolabi stated that the creation of the Citizens Gate 2.0 Platform, a one-stop shop for interacting with the government, was made possible by the Office’s responsibility and responsiveness to the needs of the people in grassroots communities and its role as a liaison between them and the government.
According to him, the office’s other duty is to bridge the gaps between the legislative and executive arms of government in order to foster cooperation for the Greater Lagos Rising.
