“It is a pleasure and opportunity to meet our customers, interact, engage them and also form a bond. Everytime we have this event, the bond continues to improve.”
He expressed his joy in the excellent performance of the selected ten, while commending them for all efforts made even with the present economic state of the nation.
He said, “I want to commend our top ten customers for their outstanding performances last year, even when they know what the environment and Nigeria economy is, but they rolled up their sleeves and ensured that they delivered excellently through the economy and tough time.”
However, he appreciated the customers and looked forward to see them again at next year’s award presentation.
Meanwhile, Cees Jan Van Der Leek, the Development Manager for Alltech Coppens, and partners with Premier Standard, while speaking on improving the customer services, stated categorically that the organization will focus more on customer orientation in year 2024, as his expectation for the fish farm industry is the awareness for quality.
He mentioned that the ways to achieve this, is by using the fish calculator which they have just developed. This according to Cees Jan, will enable them to have bigger feed fishery and also benefits.
Additionally, Cees-Jan urged stakeholders not to hesitate to contact Premier Standard on how to optimize production while he emphasized that, they should focus more to see the effect of good feed and not just the prices for the performance.
The event was not complete without a lecture from Dr Victor Dare, a forensic investigator and a business strategist who spoke on Business Performance.
While giving his lecture, he described business performance as a helicopter view of how one started business and grow it on a continuous basis, which involves a lot of things like business development, service delivery, leadership, corporate governance, management and a quite lot of things been involved.
He added that in taking business, one should take smaller units in making a global brand while giving a balanced view of what can go wrong in a business, what to do to prevent some of those risks and how to sustain profit and bottom line, what to do to impact your environment positively, how to take care of your staff who enable a business to grow.
“The participants we have today are the people that do business in the agricultural sector kind of value chain. Basically, fishery business owners have been exposed to what to do for their businesses in 2024.
On his expectations from the participants after the enlightenment, he said, “Hopefully, I wish to provide some good training mentorship for some of them who will come back to me and how to solve problems for the people with crisis.”
“Basically, next year, it should not just be an award ceremony but a time where people give testimonies of implementing some of the action plans and that their businesses are doing well”.
“It is so soothing that there are Nigerian businesses owned by Nigerians despite the economic climate and all the physical pressure. I want them to see the frontiers of their business by opening up local content.
“What they have to do is to engage it and have true independence for economy and also make sure customers needs are met.”
According to Adegbuyi Babaseyi, the commercial manager of Premier Standard Nigeria limited also spoke on the criteria in selecting the top ten. He said the criteria in selecting the top ten is basically “on performance, the sales they made within the year”.
He added that the programme encourages them to do more, and strive hard. He said those not selected are aware of the programme, though they tried their best but that wasn’t enough to push them to this level.
Adegbuyi however, appreciated everyone present at the event, he also thanked the members of his team for their support and dedication to ensure the success of the event.
