As family of the Late 12-year-old Slyvester Oromoni, finally lays his remain to rest in Ogbe-Ijoh, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta state, on Saturday, a group identified as Justice for Sylvester Oromoni Jr. has also, called on the Lagos State Government, to expedite the resolution of legal proceedings over his death.

Mr. Regent Youmor, made the call during a press conference at the National Theatre on Saturday, while advocating for justice for the late boy.

He added that due to insecurity, the group decided to hold the something similar to honor the deceased.

“Due to insecurity, we decided to hold something similar. So, as the press conference and burial goes on in Warri, simultaneously, we the brethren of Slyvester Oromoni family in Lagos, felt it necessary to also do our own thing here to honor the boy that we are burying today.”

Youmor also mentioned that the 12-year-old’s passing had caused a great deal of grief and anxiety, and that justice in relation to the death need to be carried out as soon as possible while adding that a court with appropriate authority was hearing the case.

In particular, he counselled parents to maintain positive relationships with their children enrolled in boarding schools.

He claims that having such a positive relationship will facilitate communication between them and enable parents to identify whether their kids are being bullied at school or coerced into joining a group they do not want to be a part of.

He however, described Oromoni Jnr., as a brilliant, amiable, truthful, respectful and promising child, while stating that his parents are good Christians who are law abiding.

“We believe that running to the court is the best place and that is why they must not trivialize this issue,” he said.

Meanwhile, Henry Oyobolo, National Public Secretary NDNAF, described the Oromoni Jnr’s case as an eye opener and lesson to all while urging that everyone should say no to bullying.

Recall that Oromoni Jnr., died on Nov 30, 2021, at a private hospital in Warri after alleged health complications at Dowen College, Lagos.

The bereaved family alleged that the student died from injuries he suffered as a result of bullying by five senior students of the college.

The family also alleged that he was not treated by the school in a hospital.

However, Dowen College said that the JS2 student was not bullied or injured by any student but was injured during a football match with fellow students
