
COMMISSIONER URGES LAGOS SAFETY OFFICERS ON CONTINUOUS SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE UPGRADING
In light of the ever-evolving world in which new hazards and problems appear on a daily basis, the Honorable Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, has ordered safety officers to keep ahead of the curve by consistently upgrading their knowledge and abilities.
At the Ministry of Establishments and Training-organized training program for officers from the Lagos State Safety Commission, Fire and Safety Services, Building Control Agency, and Physical Planning Permit Authority on Monday, Ayantayo made this claim.
He stated that risk assessment and accident investigation are crucial components of guaranteeing the safety and security of the state’s residents, stressing that safety officers play an important role in that respect.
According to the Commissioner, the training course, “Accident Investigation and Risk Management,” was created to give participants the information and abilities needed to conduct in-depth investigations and assessments, enabling them to spot possible risks and take preventative action to lessen them.
Ayantayo expressed gratitude to the participants for their dedication to enhancing their ability to respond to unanticipated challenges, but he was also confident that the skills they would learn at the training would enable them to make well-informed decisions, inspire confidence in the public, and advance the larger objective of making the community safer.
