LASPPPA CONDEMNS PROPERTY DEVELOPERS’ DISREGARD FOR SERVED NOTICES
Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) has strongly condemned some property owners and developers in Lagos State for consistently ignoring notices served on their properties to halt construction or present required Planning Permits.
The General Manager, Tpl. Kehinde Osinaike said of particular concern to the Authority are two estates along Orange Island Road, off Freedom Way, Lekki, the Brains and Hammers Property with multiple blocks.
He stated that despite repeated visits to the site and the issuance of contravention notices, these entities have consistently failed to comply.
He recalled that during a visit in December 2023, aggressive measures were taken by the property occupants, including setting dogs on the Monitoring and Compliance Units of LASPPPA to hinder entry to the site.
He reported that on January 31st, of this year, LASPPPA, in collaboration with Eti-Osa North District Officers, had to resort to dismantling parts of the structures after being obstructed by dogs during an enforcement exercise.
The General Manager expressed disappointment in the developers’ resistance to government officials, noting that failure to present the Planning Permit would result in document revocation and structure demolition.
Osinaike urged all Developers, Owners, and Buyers to refrain from obstructing LASPPPA officials, comply with Town Planning Laws, and promptly address any notices issued by the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority.
