NLC LAUDS OGUN GOV FOR DONATING BUSES TO LABOUR UNIONS
The Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ogun State chapter, Hammed Benco, has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for being sensitive and responsive to the plight of workers in the state.
Benco spoke at the presentation of two new 18-seater buses to the NLC and the National Union of Local Government Employees, at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The NLC chairman, who spoke on behalf of the two unions, said the governor is a man who is bound by his words and genuinely committed to the plight of workers.
Benco said, “We are extremely grateful to our governor for being a man who is faithful to his words and being a worker-friendly governor. We were actually not expecting these at this time, but I think the governor’s word is his bond.
“We are indeed grateful to him and convinced of his commitment to welfare and well-being of workers as well as people of the state.”
The NLC chairman pledged the loyalty of the workers to the Abiodun-led administration towards the optimal fulfilment of its “Building Our Future Together” mantra.
Speaking at the event, Abiodun noted that the presentation was in fulfilment of his promise to give the two unions brand-new buses for their day-to-day activities.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, disclosed that his administration has always prioritised the welfare of workers in the state.
He noted that the representatives of the workers in the state need to be mobile to be able to carry out their responsibilities effectively, calling on civil servants in the state to continue to support the present administration.
