GOVT COLLEGE IBADAN 1985 SET ALUMNI SPONSORS TOP 20 STUDENTS’ UTME
The 1985 set alumni of Government College Ibadan, in an attempt to empower students and ensure they did not miss out on opportunities, have paid for the purchase and registration of the top 20 students for the forthcoming JAMB examination.
Government College Ibadan (GCI) is a foremost and prestigious secondary school for boys, renowned for academic excellence, character building, rich and diverse extracurricular activities and sports development.
It was established on February 28, 1929, by the government as a model school and conceived as a boarding school. It is served by a huge expanse of land, possibly the biggest in the nation, featuring the school administrative block, classrooms, sports fields, student dormitories, orchard, staff quarters, and old boys complex.
The alumnus, who graduated in 1985, headed by the set chairman, Bukola Alabi, appreciated the school while also encouraging the students to be good ambassadors of the school.
“In keeping with her pledge to continue empowering students of the Great Institution of Learning, Government College Ibadan, this unique Class Set 1985 has paid for the purchase and registration of 20 students for the forthcoming JAMB examination (as acknowledged in the attachment).
“This is to ensure that our best students do not miss out on the opportunity to write the all-important-gateway examination to tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
“We celebrate the set chairman, Bukola Alabi, the executives, and all members of this great set!
In reaction, GCI management confirmed the development in a letter signed by the principal, Alamu A.J., while also appreciating the alumnus.
“On behalf of the School Management, the Staff and the entire Students of Government College Ibadan, I wish to express our profound gratitude to you for the payment of One Hundred and Seventy-four thousand Naira (N174,000) for 2024/2025 UTME Registration fees of the Best Twenty Students
“We believe that this contribution will go a long way in building bright future of the students.
“It is our prayer that God Almighty will continue to enrich and enlarge you in all spheres of life.
“You are well appreciated,” it added.
