
OIL TANKER FALLS, SPILLS CONTENT AT SURULERE, LAGOS (VIDEO)
A 33,000 litres tanker with registration number AAL 250 ZY conveying engine oil on Friday, accidentally upturn and split its content around Surulere area of Lagos State.
According to the report, the incident occured around 5.55pm as the tanker was attempting to ascend the Dorman Long Bridge, Western Avenue.
The report also states that the no casualty was recorded as drivers and assistants of both were able to escape unhurt and in good hands at the scene of accident.
“Mopping up exercise is ongoing as chemical foam compound is been expended to neutralise the oil components from resulting in secondary incident,” the report states.
“Efforts are on the way to move in earth moving equipment to recover the tanker as backlog of traffic build up beyond Ojuelegba Bridge.
Concerned authorities present at the scene of the incident include Ilupeju Fire Station of the LSFRS, Federal Fire Service, LASEMA and LASTMA.
Although the situation has been put under control, the cause of the incident still remains unknown.
