DSVA HOLDS DOOR-TO-DOOR ENGAGEMENTS AT SOGUNLE COMMUNITY IN OSHODI-ISOLO LGA
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has again moved its door-to-door community engagement to Oshodi-Isolo towards sensitising residents on the need to support the efforts of the Agency in eradicating the menace of domestic and sexual violence in Lagos.
Executive Secretary of DSVA, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi said the continuous engagement of residents of Lagos State on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence was crucial in the fight against the scourge.
She maintained that the door-to-door engagement activity would allow for relaying the SGBV message to the people to change their mindset while educating them on the ways to report cases and the availability of various free services to kickstart the referral pathway at the Agency.
Noting that the engagement was vital and the Agency would extend the advocacy to all parts of the State, Vivour-Adeniyi said DSVA would continue with the “Three Million Persons” campaign after the completion of the Door-to-Door engagement across the State.
The event was done with the active support and collaboration of the Chairpersons of 20 CDAs in the Local Government who were given IEC materials to help disseminate the zero-tolerance message of SGBV to members of their respective communities..
An estimated 6000 people were reached at Sogunle whilst flyers, educational materials, posters and souvenirs were distributed to residents by the DSVA team.
