18-YEAR-OLD MAN REMANDED FOR ALLEGEDLY RAPING MINOR
A Family Court sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Thursday ordered that one Sola Oke, 18, be remanded in a correctional facility in Ibadan for allegedly raping a minor.
Oke, whose address was not provided, was charged with rape.
The Magistrate, Mrs Sherifat Adesina, did not take the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction.
Adesina adjourned the case until May 5 for mention.
The Prosecutor, Insp Gbemisola Adedeji, told the court that Oke allegedly committed the offence on March 5, at about 1. 30 pm, at Oba Abass Secondary School area, Ibadan.
Adedeji alleged that the defendant had unlawful sexual intercourse with one 14-year-old girl (name withheld) without her consent.
