
UPDATE: ONE CONFIRMED DEAD AS WINDSTORM WRECKS HAVOC IN NASARAWA COMMUNITIES
A windstorm that occurred on Tuesday night in the Agbashi Community area of the Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State resulted in numerous injuries and one verified death.
Numerous homes as well as public facilities were devastated, forcing thousands of people to flee their homes.
While our reporter received confirmation of the death from Anthony Oshinyeka, the Acting Chairman of the Agbashi Development Association, Margaret Elayo, the State Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs, stated that the extent of the destruction and the number of individuals and communities impacted were still unknown, adding that a ministry team was evaluating the damage.
Approximately four additional local government districts in the state have also reported occurrences similar to this one.
