NAFDAC SEIZES N50 MILLION WORTH OF ILLICIT DRUGS DURING RAID IN LAGOS
The total street value of the illegal drugs that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has taken in is estimated to be around N50 million.
NAFDAC’s Investigation & Enforcement Directorate recently carried out a targeted search on drug hawkers operating in the Apapa region and its environs, seizing these substances in the process.
The raid is part of the agency’s continuous efforts to stop the distribution and sale of unauthorised drugs, the agency said in a statement on Friday.

It said that many street vendors were taken into custody during the operation, and a variety of illegal substances, including antibiotics, over-the-counter medicines, narcotics (such as tramadol), and aphrodisiacs, were seized.
The Agency said that the individuals arrested will be prosecuted accordingly, and the confiscated drugs are slated for destruction.
