(PHOTOS) PALLIATIVES: EXCITEMENT TRAILS IKOSI-ISHERI LCDA FOOD ITEMS DISTRIBUTION TO RESIDENTS

In addition to various initiatives that had been carried out amid the country’s economic hardship, Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, once again provided food items to its residents and the surrounding community on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri, gave out a loaf of bread, one crate of eggs, and a tuber of yam to each person as part of the “Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Food Palliatives” initiative, which was held at Sen. Adebayo Osinowo Hall, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA Secretariat.
Speaking to reporters, the mayoress said that the palliative was provided by Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, while adding and that the initiative is done in 57 LGAs and 37 LCDAs across the state.
She revealed that all LGAs and LCDAs received a specific amount of funding from the State Government to make the initiative possible.
While expressing her gratitude to the Governor of Lagos state, Princess Samiat went on to say that she is honored and proud to work under Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
“Also, he has distributed a lot to the CDC and CDA in the state, likewise all the artisans and stakeholders. He thought of how the grassroots can benefit from the initiative, that’s why he decided to do it across the 57 LGAs and he gave us each amount of money which I’m not going to disclose.
“I am really proud to work under Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, because he has taught us a lot; how to work and how to deliver.
“We are gathered here today just because of Mr. Capable; the one and only governor, the workaholic governor, the amiable of Governor of Lagos state.
“This palliative we’re sharing today in Ikosi-Isheri belongs to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. It is across 57 LGAs and 37 LCDAs.
“I must be sincere with you, Mr. Governor is very much concerned about the people of Ikosi-Isheri and Lagos State generally. We all know the hardship in the nation, but the people of Lagos can testify to what Mr. Capable is doing.
“While the Local Government are doing their own there, the Lagos State Government also does not relent in sharing and giving to the people of Lagos.

The Mayoress in response to the criteria used in selecting the beneficiaries, she said, “We did not use any criteria to select people, every individual is qualified and entitled to the palliative.
She stated that the LCDA made announcement via social media asking every Ikosi-Isheri residents to make their way to the secretariat to receive the palliative.
Meanwhile, in an interview with reporters, a few of the Ikosi-Isheri residents who benefited from the initiative emphasized the challenges the country faces while also praising the Mayoress for her constant dedication and hard work.
Speaking further, the Mayoress said, “While we are sharing the palliatives, we must also not forget the infrastructure. This situation we’re facing in the country is just a phase, and it’ll pass.
“We are not going to get tired because, my heart is where my community is, she added.”
