NiMET PREDICTS THREE-DAY SUNSHINE, THUNDERSTORMS STARTING MONDAY
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet, has forecast sunshine and thunderstorms from Monday to Wednesday nationwide.
According to NiMet’s weather forecast, which was made public on Sunday in Abuja, Monday would be sunny with a few cloudy spots over the northern cities and the possibility of thunderstorms later in the day over some areas of Taraba.
The agency states that the North Central region should see bright skies with patches of cloud, with the possibility of morning thunderstorms over portions of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Kogi, and Kwara States.
It stated that there is a chance of isolated thunderstorms across the Federal Capital Territory, the state of Kogi, and the state of Benue.
NiMet predicts cloudy skies with sunny spells across the southern area, with the possibility of morning thunderstorms over portions of the states of Oyo, Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, and Lagos.
It stated that isolated thunderstorms are predicted over portions of the states of Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Ekiti, Ogun, Imo, Oyo, Ondo, Edo, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Rivers, Lagos, and Bayelsa in the afternoon and evening hours.
Along with clear skies and a few cloudy patches over the northern states, NiMet also predicted isolated thunderstorms over portions of Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, Taraba, and Kaduna states on Tuesday in the afternoon and evening.
It forecasted bright skies with isolated cloud patches for the North Central region in the morning.
Additionally, the agency projected isolated thunderstorms for later in the day over portions of the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, Nasarawa, Kogi, Benue, Kwara, and Niger States.
