SUNSHINE STARS PLAYERS RUE DEFEAT TO SPORTING LAGOS
Sunshine Stars captain Sunday Abe has expressed the team’s disappointment with the slim defeat against Sporting Lagos.
The Owena Waves put up a good fight in the game but ended up losing 1-0.
Pascal Durugbor struck early in the game to give Sporting Lagos maximum points.
Abe believed Sunshine Stars deserved at least a point from the game.
“We felt really disappointed with the outcome of the game,” he stated in a chat with the media.
“You can see we played really well and the referee failed to award us a clear penalty but that football we have to improve going forward.”
Sunshine Stars dropped to 16th position on the table following the defeat.
