The Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), Managing Director, Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani has stated that the ongoing restructuring exercise is designed to improve service delivery to residents of the state and bring back the lost glory of the corporation, just as he commended the staff for their dedication and commitment towards the smooth running of the exercise.

Engr. Tijani stated this on Tuesday while updating the LWC Management and Staff on the restructuring and change in processes being experienced in the corporation, describing them as inevitable and necessary for positive results.

He said, “We intend to bring everyone on board in running a result-driven and commercial-focused system while initiating a new culture of improved efficiency and enhanced service delivery.”.

Noting that Lagos Urban Water Sanitation and Hygiene (LUWASH) is currently supporting the water sector in various activities, which include the rehabilitation of some micro/mini waterworks to close the water demand gap, he urged the staff to be more committed towards the corporation’s transformation process and progress.

Engr. Tijani revealed that Key Performance Indicators (KPI) would henceforth be a yardstick for the distribution of job positions as the restructuring process continues.

He, therefore, appealed to the staff to work with him, as the organization’s transformation is a strategy for change and is intended to move the corporation from where it currently is to a desired future state.

In her remarks, the LWC Executive Director, Operations, Engr. (Mrs.) Omolanke Taiwo added that the initiative is necessary for the betterment of the corporation.
