(PHOTO): LAGOS GOVT CHARGES CORPS MEMBERS ON ETHICAL CONDUCT
The Lagos State Government has charged Corps Members serving in the State on ethical conduct and selfless service.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education of the State, Mr. Abayomi Abolaji, gave the charge while delivering a lecture titled “Professionalism in Teaching”, at the Lagos State Orientation Camp of the National Youth Service Corps, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.
Mr. Abolaji pointed out that the conduct and ways of life of corps members must reflect their personal integrity, truthfulness, honesty and loyalty.
The Permanent Secretary added that the desire of every corps member must be to serve the country selflessly and make Nigeria a better nation to live in.
He, therefore, charged the corps members to make worthy contributions to the State and towards nation building.
Mr. Abolaji also harped on the need for corps members to make the skills and knowledge they acquired in the course of their studies to positively impact on their immediate communities, adding that this would make them great leaders the country would be proud of.
The Permanent Secretary also advised them to live lives worthy of emulation and motivate the young ones around them for selfless service and national development.
He also implored the corps members to imbibe the culture of respect and respect others, stressing that “respect begets respect”.
He also urged them to be conscious of their dressing and let it command positive attention and respect among the people at all times.
The Permanent Secretary also enjoined them to be good ambassadors of their respective institutions and let their mandatory one year national service add value to the State and Nigeria as a whole.
