INSECURITY: NIGERIAN SECURITY FORCES HAVE FAILED, WE NEED MERCENARIES – BORNO LAWMAKER
Ahmed Jaha, a Borno State representative in the House of Representatives, has urged the Bola Tinubu administration to deploy foreign resources to combat insecurity because he believes the Nigerian security forces have failed.
Rep. Jaha of Chibok, Gwoza, and Danbuwa made the call on Tuesday in response to a motion that Obinna Ginger had proposed.
Speaking on insecurity, Jaha said the foreign mercenaries almost wiped out the Boko Haram insurgents during the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
He claimed that Buhari was given incorrect advice in 2015 to drive out the mercenaries and that since then, insecurity has expanded throughout the nation.
Despite spending billions of naira, Jaha claimed that the Nigerian security forces did not effectively combat insecurity. According to him, the House needs to make its stance on the use of foreign machinery clear.
“The mercenaries almost wiped out the Boko Haram insurgents during Jonathan’s administration but Buhari sent them out of the country,” he said.
Recall that in the battle against insurgents, former President Jonathan extended an invitation to South African mercenaries to spearhead the offensive.
