MINISTRY HOSTS HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
The members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Finance, led by the Chairman, Hon. Saheed Obafemi on Tuesday visited the Ministry of Finance in line with the exercise of its oversight statutory responsibilities.
The Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Abayomi Oluyomi, while welcoming the distinguished members, emphasised that the Ministry as well as other investment and revenue-generating bodies under its purview will continue to embark on strategic and transformative initiatives to generate the necessary revenue for the State.
He said the Ministry’s leadership would continue to support the government in accelerating the delivery of democratic dividends for Lagosians as encapsulated in the THEMES Plus developmental agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s Administration
According to him, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is audaciously advancing the frontiers of infrastructure development through creative financing and funding strategies.
In his remarks, Hon. Saheed Obafemi stated that the purpose of the visit by the committee is to familiarize and assess the performance level of the Y2024 Budget.
He commended Commissioner Oluyomi and his team for their efforts in coordinating and monitoring revenue generation in the first quarter of Y2024. The Chairman, however, charged them to improve their efforts as well as the holistic projects’ monitoring and evaluation to give value to money spent on them.
