FCT POLICE ARRESTS 10 SUSPECTED ‘ONE CHANCE’ ROBBERS, RECOVER N2M CASH
The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has revealed that its operatives nabbed at least 10 suspected one chance robbers in two separate operations.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh disclosed this during a press conference in Abuja on Monday.
According to him, Police operatives from the Maitama Division, on April 7 during routine patrol along Nicon Junction, heard a loud cry suspected to be that of a victim and swiftly mobilised to the location.
The CP said the assailants had pushed the victim out of a moving vehicle after stripping her of all her belongings.
“In response to this, the police operative gave the hoodlums a hot chase forcing them to abandon their vehicle and took to their heels,” he stated.
He added that the hoodlums including one Hamza Ibrahim, Mubarak Abubakar, Abubakar Suleiman and Mohammed Lawal, were subsequently arrested.
In a related development, operatives of the Command attached to the Lugbe Division on April 15 arrested six suspected ‘one chance’ robbers, namely Peter Fateh, Esther Peter, James Ogbuh, Kabiru Buba and Kabir Abubakar.
