INEC ANNOUNCES PREPAREDNESS TO TRAIN 794 CSO OFFICIALS AHEAD OF EDO, ONDO GOV POLLS
Following up on its discussions with pertinent parties in advance of the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States, the Independent National Electoral Commission declared that it would be ready to provide 794 officials from civil society organisations with training.
Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of the panel, disclosed this to the CSOs at the beginning of the meeting on Tuesday. He told them that the commission would start training the chosen officials in advance of the two elections.
The panel has set more sessions with the media and security agencies for Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, after holding a similar discussion with political party leaders on Monday.
Prof Yakubu urged the CSOs, to upload their applications and data on the INEC portal for accreditation.
