BANDITS KILL OVER 40 PEOPLE, HOUSES BURNT IN PLATEAU COMMUNITY ATTACK
Over forty people are said to have died after suspected bandits raided Zurak village in the Bashar District of the Wase Local Government Area in Plateau State.
According to information received by our journalist, the bandits also set fire to a number of residences during the Monday night raid.
Residents of the community, who verified the incident in Jos on Tuesday, say that it happened on Monday night at around 7 p.m. while people were going about their regular lives. However, because of the inadequate communication infrastructure in the area, they were unable to report the incident.
A youth leader in the area, Sahpiāi Sambo, who also confirmed the incident to our correspondent, said the bandits arrived at the community riding on two to three motorcycles ā with sophisticated weapons and started shooting sporadically at everyone.
He said, āMore than 40 people were killed while many others were injured.ā

āWe are in a meeting. I will call you later pleaseā, the PPRO said.
Also, the spokesman for the Military Taskforce in Plateau State, Samson Zhakom, asked for time to get details of what transpired in the Council Area.
