LASG ASSURES PARENTS ON THE INTEGRITY OF SCREENING TEST RESULTS

The Lagos State Government has assured parents of pupils seeking admission into the 16 Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools in the Year 2024/2025 Academic Session that the results of the test conducted by the Lagos State Examinations Board at the 5 CBT designated centres would reflect the true performance of the candidates.

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education in the State, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli- Balogun, gave the assurance during the flag – off ceremony for the CBT Entrance Examination for pupils seeking admission into the 16 Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools in the State, held at the WAEC Testing and Training Centre (WTTC), Ogba, Lagos.

Mr. Alli-Balogun stated that the examination was conducted through CBT to eradicate all forms of abuse and malpractices usually associated with such examinations in the past.

The Commissioner further pointed out that the results of the examination would be generated immediately, adding that there would be no room for manipulation or alteration of the results of candidates.

He also stated that the Screening Test into Model Colleges is a non – school based (choice) examination that has more demand. In every model school, the accommodation of students is leverage to a capacity of 500.

He reiterated that the State government is committed to providing high quality educational facilities for all public schools of the State.

Mr. Alli-Balogun also commended the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu- led administration in the State for providing an enabling and conducive environment for learning for students.

He also expressed gratitude to Non- Governmental Organisations for their collaboration with the Ministry to achieve success in the education sector, noting that the government could not do it alone because the available resources are limited.

The Commissioner revealed that a total of 4,909 pupils participated in the Screening Test conducted by the Lagos State Examinations Board.
