VAN NISTELROOY TO REPLACE CHELSEA-BOUND MARESCA AT LEICESTER CITY
Leicester City are reportedly considering former Manchester United striker, Ruud van Nistelrooy for their managerial vacancy following the imminent departure of Enzo Maresca.
Maresca is all set to take over at Chelsea, succeeding Mauricio Pochettino, who recently left Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea will compensate Leicester with £10 million for Maresca, who successfully led the Foxes back to the Premier League by winning the Championship this season.
Despite potential challenges, including a possible points deduction because of alleged breaches of Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules, the Leicester job is expected to attract significant interest.
Several candidates have been linked with the position, including former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper, former Chelsea coach Graham Potter and Carlos Coberan of West Brom.
Van Nistelrooy, who has been unemployed since leaving PSV last year because of a “lack of support” from the club’s leadership, is another name under consideration.
According to The Mirror, the Dutchman, who has expressed a desire to manage in the Premier League, is being seriously considered by Leicester.
The 47-year-old is reportedly on Leicester City’s shortlist as they look to replace outgoing manager Maresca.
