In Arigbabu village, Sotubo, in the Sagamu Local Government Area of the state, a landlord named Benjamin Apeh got into a fight with his tenant, Mr. Emmanuel, over unpaid house rent. The Ogun State Police Command said it is presently looking into what happened that resulted in Apeh’s death.

The daughter of the deceased, Precious Apeh, reported a possible murder case on Monday at 5:00 p.m., according to a statement released on Tuesday by the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola. The command then claimed that it had started an investigation.

She continued by saying that the deceased’s daughter had told the police that her father had questioned his renter about unpaid rent around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday.

According to the spokesman, Precious told the police that she overheard her father and the renter fighting in front of their home at around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, during which the tenant threatened to “kill” him.

She claims, “After collapsing during the dispute, Apeh was taken to the NNPC Hospital in Mosimi, where the attending physician subsequently declared him dead.

“The suspect fled the scene, but efforts are underway to apprehend him.

“Detectives led by SP Temitope Fapohunda visited the scene, took photographs, and further updates will be communicated,” she said.

The PPRO noted that an investigation had begun on the case.

He explained that the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.
