30 FEARED KILLED, OTHERS IINJURED AS BANDITS ATTACK TWO LGAS IN KATSINA
Following new, repeated raids by armed bandits on a number of communities in the Katsina State local government areas (LGAs) of Dutsinma and Safana, thirty people are thought to be dead.
Despite efforts by security services and the government to put an end to the insurgency in the areas, bandit activity has increased in two frontline LGAs, Dutsinma and Safana.
Journalists was informed on Friday by eyewitnesses that the thirteen communities that were targeted were assaulted during the overnight hours of Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
They identified the villages as Dogon Ruwa, Sabon Gari Unguwar Banza, Tashar Kawai Mai Zurfi, Sanawar Kurecen Dutsi, Unguwar Bera, Kurecin Kulawa, Larabar Tashar Mangoro, Sabaru, Ashata, Unguwar Ido, Kanbiri, Kunamawar Mai Awaki and Kunamawar āYargandu
The eyewitnesses further revealed that the multiple attacks frightened most of the residents who have now migrated to safer communities and areas like Dutsinma.
āAs I am talking to you now, even yesterday, we learned that the hoodlums carried out another attack on several other vulnerable villages such as Lezumawa, āYar Kuka, Rimi, and Dogon Ruwa villages,ā the source said.
