SHOOTING STARS CONTINENTAL DREAM NOT OVER DESPITE LOSS TO RIVERS UNITED – OGUNBOTE
Shooting Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, believes his side still have a decent chance of securing a place on the continent despite Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Rivers United.
The defeat put a dent on the Oluyole Warriors chances of securing third spot on the spot.
A third-place finish will guarantee a place in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
Shooting Stars currently occupy fourth position with 57 points, two adrift of Remo Stars, who sit in third spot.
With three game remaining before the end of the campaign, Ogunbote is upbeat they can achieve their objective.
“Well we have two homes and one way game, just like every other team, the important thing is until it is over, it is not over, ” he told the club’s media.
“We will go back home and pick our pieces, and see what we can get from three, maybe we can bounce back. That will be a good thing for us.”
The Oluyole Warriors will host old foes Rangers at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Wednesday.
