CRIME: SUSPECTED GUNMEN ABDUCT PREGNANT WOMAN IN OGUN
In Ogun State’s Abeokuta, a pregnant woman was kidnapped by suspected gunmen.
The case was reported to the Ogun State Police Command, according to spokesman Omolola Odutola.
“One Ogunbunmi Lateef of Oke Lantoro reported that his pregnant wife due for delivery left home for State Hospital Ijaiye Abeokuta,” she said on her X handle.
“The woman simply identified as Mrs Rahmatullah Ogunbunmi was reportedly kidnapped on Thursday by unidentified armed men on her way to the state general hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta, the state capital.”
Before being abducted, the victim reportedly left her Oke Lantoro house for the State General Hospital in Ijaiye, Abeokuta, in order to go for a delivery.
It was said that her husband, Ogunbunmi Lateef, learned of his wife’s kidnapping through a WhatsApp message.

The husband reportedly felt crushed by the tragedy and is begging the United Security Forces to assist in his wife’s rescue.
“I can tell you that the husband is no longer himself, the sad incident has really rattled him. He was expecting to be informed that his wife had successfully put to bed not that she had been abducted,” a source close to the family told Channels Television.
“It is not a palatable situation at all. We are all praying that the Almighty God will intervene. We are praying that the police, the NSCDC, and even the military will combine strength to rescue the woman hale and hearty. This incident is just so absurd and sad.”
