EURO 2024: TWO SPANISH REFEREES SENT HOME OVER POOR OFFICIATING COMPLAINTS

Read Time:34 Second

Two Spanish referees were sent home by UEFA due to complaints about their refereeing during Euro 2024.

They are Alejandro Hernandez and Jesus Gil Manzano, according to the UK Metro.

Scotland was defeated 1-0 by Hungary last Sunday, and Hernandez was the VAR official who disregarded their plea for a penalty.

Meanwhile, Manzano was criticised for his error in France’s 1-0 win over Austria.

Both referees will take no part in the knockout stages of the tournament.

Manzano’s two assistants, Diego Barbero and Angel Nevado, have also been sent home.

This leaves only Martinez Munuera, a VAR official, as Spain’s sole representative for the remainder of Euro 2024.
