
LATEST: SIX ARRESTED OVER INDIA STAMPEDE DISASTER
Six people have been detained by Indian police over their suspected involvement in a catastrophic stampede that occurred during a religious lecture and left 121 people dead, the force informed reporters on Thursday.
“Six people have been arrested,” police inspector general Shalabh Mathur told journalists. “They were mainly working as volunteers. They were engaged in crowd management and collecting funds.”
