14-YEAR-OLD BOY BEATEN TO DEATH BY MOTHER AND SON OVER MISSING N1000

A yet-to-be-identified woman and her son, known only as Chukwuemeka, have allegedly beaten a 14-year-old boy named Testimony to death at their home on Delta Street, Ayanre, off Ibiye bus stop, Badagry, Lagos.

According to information obtained, the deceased was allegedly beaten for allegedly misplacing a N1000 note that one of the suspects gave him to use to purchase goods at the market.

The deceased adolescent was reportedly beaten for many hours beginning at 11 p.m. on Wednesday until passing away from his wounds at around 1 a.m. on Thursday, according to multiple people.

One of the neighbours who spoke with our correspondent on Friday said, “This young boy was beaten to death by his guardians, who were not his biological parents. The neighbours tried to intervene, but the doors were locked from the inside.

“Around 6 am this morning (Thursday), he (the deceased) wasn’t responding to his name, so they rushed him to a nearby hospital. The hospital didn’t have oxygen therapy, so they brought him back home, which aggravated the boy’s condition.

“After that, the lady called her church prayer partners and began to pray for miracles to occur before the boy passed away. The woman, who was the primary suspect in the abuses done to the deceased, was picked up by the police on Thursday at precisely 5:10 p.m.

When inquired about the incident, Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police command’s spokesperson, stated he was unable to confirm it.

“I cannot confirm that now,” Hundeyin wrote in response to our correspondent inquiry on Friday.

However, a one-minute and thirty-two-second video that another eyewitness—who wished to remain anonymous because of the sensitive nature of the situation—revealed the boy’s lifeless body in the flat, covered in a cloth and covered in terrible bruises.

One of the men suspected to be behind the camera was heard saying, “This is the dead boy with bruises,” while others were screaming in disbelief.
