DELTA TO HOLD LG ELECTION SATURDAY
The Delta State Local Government election, scheduled for tomorrow throughout the state, is all set.
There would be elections for council chairmen and councillors in each of the state’s 25,500 wards and 5,863 polling places.
In the meantime, the 25 LGAs’ DPOs, the squad commander of the 31 PMF, and the State Commissioner of Police, Abaniwonda Olufemi, led the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s office in Asaba, Delta State, to inspect the materials for the local government elections.
Additionally, the visit is intended to guarantee the secure transportation of both sensitive and non-sensitive materials to the state’s numerous local government districts.
Olufemi gave the DPOs instructions to personally transport all materials to the designated locations safely and gave residents and electorates the assurance that the Command would make sure the poll was held without incident or disturbance.
He also restated the ban on mobility on election day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., stating that individuals performing necessary tasks and students taking the NABTEB exam will not be impacted by the ban.
