Anant, the youngest son of Ambani, and his fiancée Radhika Merchant, both 29, plan to tie their knots this weekend in Mumbai, the financial hub, after months of extravagant pre-marriage celebrations that have raised the bar on matrimonial extravagance.
Prior festivities featured a 1,200-person European cruise, a specially constructed Hindu temple at the Ambani family’s ancestral home, and exclusive performances by Canadian Justin Bieber and R&B singer Rihanna.
The Kardashians are the latest in a long line of famous foreign VIPs to make an appearance.
Kim, the older sister, posted a video on Instagram of her car being surrounded by Indian paparazzi as soon as she arrived, and the staff at their opulent hotel giving the siblings garlands of flowers.

Reporters also saw former British prime leaders Tony Blair and Boris Johnson when they arrived at the Mumbai airport in advance of the celebration, which was scheduled to start later on Friday.
Singer Katy Perry performed at a masquerade event at a French chateau in Cannes during the couple’s four-day Mediterranean cruise in June.
The Backstreet Boys, US rapper Pitbull and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli also provided entertainment.
Previous galas have welcomed a who’s who of Indian sports and culture, including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Ivanka, the daughter of former US president Donald Trump.
This week’s opulent celebrations are set to raise the bar, with even more celebrities, politicians and global business elites jetting into the monsoon-hit megacity of Mumbai.
Among the other celebrities believed to be going are actor John Cena, boxing champion Mike Tyson, and former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Mukesh, Anant’s father, is the chairman of Reliance Industries, a family-run business that has expanded to become the largest firm in India in terms of market capitalization.
According to Forbes, the patriarch is the eleventh richest person in the world, with over $113 billion, and he has a history of speaking out against family weddings.
He held the most expensive wedding in India to date for his daughter in 2018, which reportedly cost $100 million and saw US singer Beyonce perform.
Ambani is also a significant ally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a right-wing Hindu nationalist in India.
He took over a prosperous industrial business that included petrochemicals, gas and oil, and he developed it into a massive conglomerate with profitable holdings in retail, telecommunications and an Indian Premier League cricket franchise.
One of the most recognisable buildings in Mumbai is his 27-story family home, Antilia, which was reputedly built for more than $1 billion and employs 600 people on a permanent basis.
Merchant is the famous pharmaceutical moguls’ daughter.
