POLITICAL NEWS: APC CHIEFTAIN, DOGUWA, DEFECTS TO PDP

Senator Masaud Doguwa, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State, has joined the Peoples Democratic Party.

This was said in a statement given to reporters on Friday and signed by Doguwa.

Following his accusations that President Bola Tinubu’s administration was anti-people and lacking focus, which he claimed had caused the country to descend into poverty, Doguwa defected to the PDP.

Along with his many fans, he left the APC, citing concerns of underutilization and the party’s anti-people policies, according to the statement.

He claimed that despite having a great deal of political experience, they seldom ever participated in party forums to share their knowledge and support the growth of the APC.

“In politics, if you fail to engage highly experienced politicians by providing them with political assignments, you are making them politically redundant, and giving them room to struggle and engage themselves elsewhere,” the statement read.

The senator also expressed his disappointment with the APC government’s policies, which he believes are harmful to ordinary citizens.

“After careful appraisal, I have discovered that some of the policies are anti-people-oriented and do not align with our political ideology,” he said.

He added, “These policies are causing more harm and concern than good to the ordinary and common citizens of the country.

“From what we have seen happening in APC, we have not seen light in the tunnel where an ordinary man, big or small, will sigh a relief from the burden of life with the APC approach on issues.”
