WORLD NEWS: SUDAN ORDER FOREIGNERS TO LEAVE KHARTOUM
Agency Report
All foreigners are instructed to evacuate Khartoum, the country’s capital, and the surrounding area by Sudanese security officials.
According to a statement from the division of the police that deals with foreigners, they have two weeks to comply.
According to the authorities, foreigners should depart for their own safety because government soldiers and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia are still engaged in combat.
Media sources claim that since there were rumors of foreign mercenaries within the ranks of the RSF, there has been an increase in animosity toward foreigners, particularly those from other African nations.
A few days ago, about 150 foreign nationals without proper residency documentation were taken into custody.
For almost a year, Sudan’s de facto ruler, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and his former deputy, Mohammed Hamdan Daglo, have been engaged in a deadly power struggle.
The UN reports that the fighting has driven out nearly 10 million people and put the nation at risk of starvation.
Following the start of hostilities, ambassadors and employees of international humanitarian organizations evacuated Khartoum and are currently operating from Port Sudan, where conditions are more stable.
